God is good all of the time and all of the time God is good. Welcome to the East Henrietta Road Church of Christ Sister To Sister Ministry. As women in God's Kingdom, we realize that we have an awesome responsibility to one another as sisters in Christ. This responsibility entails the enhancement of the spiritual well-being of one another through fellowship, prayer and studying God's word. For this reason, this ministry has various components to edify one another as we journey from earth to glory. Please feel free to attend any of the scheduled Bible classes specifically designed for our women as well as the various activities which take place during the year. It is our goal that we do all that we can to aid one another to be the women that our God wants us to be.
Our purpose is to glorify God and to edify each other through song, prayer and the Word. We meet on the second Saturday of each month at 10 am. The ministry gives new converts, as well as those who desire a closer relationship with other sisters an opportunity to bond and to share in the spiritual stimulation of song and prayer. Our attendees and speakers include sisters from other Churches of Christ. Any sister who desires to present a lesson is encouraged to do so. This is an excellent opportunity to gain knowledge and understanding of the scriptures through preparation of the lesson. In presenting the lesson the self confidence needed for public speaking or bible teaching is developed. Visitors from all churches are welcome.
This ministry meets on the second Friday of each month at 7 PM. The venue is from house to house. In keeping with the First Century Church, once a month our ladies journey to the relaxed setting of the home of a sister for an intimate study of God's Word and to break bread with one another. The lesson presenter will teach a topic of her choosing and will facilitate an open discussion. This Bible Study also chooses one month per quarter to do community outreach. Once a year we have an overnight study held at one of Rochester's finest hotels.
Once a quarter, we implement an activity for the women of our congregation. In the past, this activity has ranged from going to see a play, New York City shopping trips, movies, ect. It gives us a chance to fellowship with one another and to get to know one another better.
Each month our ladies meet to study various topics that pertain specifically to women. We use innovative ways to involve as many sisters as possible through lesson presentations, panel discussions and open discussions. Areas of discussion have included but are not limited to attired for the successful Christian woman to studies of the women throughout God's Word.
This event takes place the first Saturday in October at the church building. Once a year, we have an Annual Ladies Day with a theme geared around our congregational theme. Usually, a national speaker is invited to expound on our theme and to share the weekend with us. After the Saturday program the women will gather in the Fellowship Hall, which as been beautifully decorated for our luncheon. Our guest speaker will usually teach a Sunday morning Bible class, as well.
(Sisters Helping All Reach Eternity) This component of our ministry reaches out to our community and shares the Gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It lets this world know that we are here and that we care about their needs and their spiritual well-being. Once a quarter, our ladies gather to do a community service based project. Projects will include but are not limited to visiting the Women's Prison, Women's Shelter, visiting the sick, caroling during the holidays and nursing homes, cook-outs for the homeless, ect, just to name a few.
