As the name implies, the Sick Ministry is designed to minister to the needs of members who are sick and/or who are unable to attend regular church services. This is an awesome responsibility that we gladly accept.

We offer the same aspects of worship to the sick and shut-in on an as needed basis. Scriptures are read and audio tapes of sermons are available. Communion is offered as commanded in 1 Corinthians 11:25. Also provided is a means of giving (1 Corinthians 16:2) by supplying an offering envelope along with a bulletin highlighting events going in our congregation and across the brotherhood to keep the ill person informed.

Jesus explains in Matthew 25:34-46 that by showing kindness to the poor, needy and sick, we show kindness to Him. This benevolence is not only for the affluent, but also for the poor and afflicted. We cannot simply give charity to the powerful, but also for the persecuted. Jesus considers people who are least, poor, afflicted and persecuted his brethren (vs. 40).

Although we minister to Christ's "brethren" (vs. 40) through fellowship, prayer and worship, our ultimate goal is to serve so "that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ" (1 Peter 4:11). The added bonus is that we are strengthened and encouraged because of our obedience. Then God shall say one glorious day, "Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world" (Matthew 25:34).
