EAST HENRIETTA ROAD CHURCH OF CHRIST CHORUS

 

Jonathan Wilson serves as Church Choral Director, with Sarah Higdon as his assistant. They stand on the broad shoulders of legendary educator, Josh Lofton, who formed this choir in 1961. Fellowship, respect, and mutual love for God are the glue that has held this group together through the years. Their songs range from heartfelt spirituals of the old south to compilations of soulful contemporary rhythms and sounds that shape our current culture. This ministry is a magnificent privilege given by God, which serves as an expression of His overflowing Spirit in believers’ hearts. They adopt the New Testament’s purest form of music, a cappella singing, denoting void of instrumental accompaniment. Their style gives a glimpse of a worship experience that has thrived for nearly 2000 years. It teaches, admonishes, and strengthens the soul in times of need and contentment.
